Ed Schultz Slams Dana Perino, Rep. Joe Barton For âFear-Mongeringâ Aboutâ¦Light Bulbs

Ed Schultz devoted his “Psycho Talk” portion today to Dana Perino, former White House Press helper under George W. Bush, and what he saw as her foolish views on an unusual topic: lightbulbs. If you never due a programme show to devote a portion to fact-checking statements most lightbulbs…well, join the club, though it did earmark for individual light-related puns.

Schultz analyzed remarks Perino prefabricated on a past episode of Fox and Friends, where he described her persona as “run[ning] her representative on the stylish righty talking points.” He additional that she “does a pretty beatific employ of it,” which is the definition of “damning with fearful praise” if we’ve ever heard it. Perino said on the information that she “started panicking” at an forcefulness calculate (signed by President George W. Bush) because it “included a forbiddance on incandescent lightbulbs.” Schultz decried this as “completely wrong,” and that the calculate “eliminates inefficient lightbulbs. Light goin’ on?*”

Schultz also railed against Rep. Joe Barton (R-TX), for decrying the higher toll of the “pig-tailed” CFL bulbs without noting that, in Schultz’s words, “last a inferno of a aggregation longer.” We strength be mercifully past terminal week’s near-dead-period for news, but devoting even this two-plus-minute portion to lightbulbs proves we’re not still completely discover of the dark**. Video of the segment, via MSNBC, below.

*Other light-related puns: the rendering of the portion existence “Not That Bright,” Schultz calling Perino’s declaration most incandescent bulbs “worse than a effort in the dark.”

**This line constitutes my audition to indite the punny book for telegram programme graphics.
